Review
The Palm is a
national steakhouse chain with about thirty locations across the
country. The dining area emotes a typical steakhouse feel, with white
linen-covered tables and dark wood-covered paneling and furniture.
However, the walls are decorated with caricatures and cartoons of local
celebrities, which gives the restaurant a bit of a hokey (but local) feel. The menu
is classical steakhouse, with a good seafood selection (including the
tempting five-pound lobster offering). During our most recent visit, we
sampled a Lobster and Caviar Cocktail, the Mixed Green Salad, Filet
Mignon Oscar-Style, a butter-flied Filet Mignon, and the Signature
Half-and-Half side (cottage fries and fried onions). We were divided in
our opinions. Put simply, it was absolutely delicious and excellently
prepared, one of the best meals I have ever had (Mike). Kim found her
meal to be average. Service was sensational, as our waiter was extremely
attentive, informative, and friendly. Pricing was high - I found it to
be a value, while Kim found it to be a tad overpriced. Parking is what
you'd expect in the Back Bay - not easy. Don't pass on the Signature
Half and Half side, it was a nice light side to top off a heavy meal. -Mike
