Review
No. 9 Park is a high class bistro set
in a classical townhouse overlooking Boston Common. The view is spectacular
and the décor is elegant. However, the dining room was a bit too packed for
my taste, and the tables too close together, creating a loud atmosphere
lacking privacy. The menu was an eclectic mix of European and New England
flavors. The food was excellently creative and flavorful, but portions were
small. Service was intentionally on the slower side, as dining is meant to
be experienced in a European style. If you are looking for a quick fill up,
this is not the place for you. The tasting menu is highly recommended,
as the chef will treat your palette to upwards of seven delectable delights.
While there is no official dress code, attire tends to be formal. A
tip to drivers: grab a parking space under Boston Common on evenings or
weekends (for a relatively inexpensive price), and enjoy a stroll through
the park before your meal to work up the appetite.
