Review
This plush
dining room is the centerpiece of the Langham Hotel (formerly the Le
Meridien, and the Federal Reserve Bank prior to that). The atmosphere is
grand, with high ceilings, intricate detail, and beautifully designed
high-back chairs. The menu offers traditional French cuisine with a
modern twist. The desserts are magnificent. The wine list is impressive,
and the adjacent Julien Lounge is as decorative as the restaurant
itself, offering full bar service. The service is excellent, in line
with what you’d expect from a first class restaurant. Keep in mind
that we may be biased towards Julien, as we had our wedding reception at
Le Meridien. However, we can unequivocally say that this is one of the
best restaurants in the city. On our most recent visit, we sampled
Braised Rack of Lamb accompanied by Asparagus and Smashed Potatoes,
covered in a delicious French marinade. Pricing is very expensive, but
worth the expense in my opinion. You may also want to try Café Fleuri, a
less expensive option located within the atrium of the hotel. The Sunday
brunch is hands-down the area’s best. Lastly, if you are a chocoholic,
try the “chocolate” bar, presented every Saturday afternoon from September
through June, offering a specialized sweets menu including éclairs, torts, and
cookies. -Mike
